The problems of hunger and poverty are severe today globally, with close to a billion people experiencing food insecurity. A United Nations food report shows that in 2017 around 827 million people didn’t get full nourishment, and Africa and South Asia represent about two-thirds of the number. The two researchers show the current severity of the global food insecurity problem. There remains a significant gap between those who get full nourishments and malnourished ones. The food demand-supply force has proven unsustainable since many issues are clouding the food production system.
The Food Crisis
The increase in biofuel production is among the significant causes of food insecurity, with farmers migrating to the production of biofuel products like coconut and sugarcane. Biofuels are attractive when compared to food farming since they yield better returns for farmers. The focus on cash crop products rather than food crops leaves a rising unfulfilled demand for food, thus food insecurity problems.
Additionally, unsustainable agricultural practices also bring about food insecurities. The extreme fertilizer usage, greenhouse gas effect, and pesticides contaminate the general global environment, making farming hard. The toxic wastes lead to contaminated water, soil; hence the growth of farm products stagnates. Moreover, other organizations use unsanctioned farming practices like deforestation leading to larger unfertile grounds.
Another factor that affects food supply is government regulations on farm product prices. Governments set up the lowest food prices that reduce profits, thus discouraging farmers from producing. Other problems include hefty food prices; consumers are still not able to purchase foods. Further, increased production, transportation, and advertising costs reduce the global food supply.
Food and agricultural security is part of the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN. The FAO‘s task is assuring that the world hits zero hunger by 2030; however, the charge is challenging, especially with the increasing population.
Therefore, the global food crisis needs to be solved fast to protect the next generation. A new blockchain government, UAS, aims to ensure it delivers the promise of food security.
UAS; Providing Global Food Security
The United Allied States (UAS) is a new blockchain government fostering the fight of globalism. Many developing countries suffer poverty fates due to the neglect of living in today’s society. Every nation focuses on the growth and development of its citizens, people within its boundaries. The UAS government aims to protect the globe, people of all races. The UAS has been in the making for a long time, learning from the mistakes of existing governments. It will therefore work to solve all problems that all governments are unable to solve. However, to end hunger UAS brings even better solutions.
The government will operate on the principles of a free-market economy. Unlike command market economies, which set many regulations for trading, free-market economies are free from unwarranted policies. The agriculture sector will be one of the greatest beneficiaries of free-market options since farmers have the liberty to sell their products at profiting prices.
The UAS will also solve a lack of purchasing power by instituting a labor department to create innovative job opportunities for citizens. The department establishes standards for employee treatment; thus, job seekers globally will enjoy the labor department services. Apart from fighting for workers, the labor department vouches for retirees’ rights, allowing them to earn a living for their families.
The UAS will help speed up the UN’s sustainable development goals, zero hunger, and zero poverty.
Deflationary Currency for Poverty Reduction
Current national currencies are a primary source of poverty. All national currencies are vulnerable to inflation, including the most prominent USD and Euro.
However, the problem is more pronounced in developing countries where inflation hardens food accessibility. Venezuela is the century example; its inflation rates hit 10 million percent. Hyperinflation has led to severe economic drops in Venezuela, leading to even higher oil prices and food prices.
The UAS brings a national digital currency ending the problems clouding current fiat currencies. This new currency, a stable coin, will have a gold asset backing.
Throughout the entire history, gold has been the most promising valuable asset. The asset was used as a medium of exchange in ancient countries, while others used it to store value. Gold has the most stable prices, with a perpetual value increase. Although it has undergone some plummet, the metal is always dependable and valuable even under the worst condition.
Using gold to back the UAS sovereign currency will ensure the currency remains valuable over time. Moreover, fiat money inflation is sometimes caused by the overprinting of paper money. However, using a digital currency provides a deflationary currency.
Although the United Nations FAO’s task helps end the hunger problems globally, the current situation is increasingly worse. However, the United Allied States government is the ultimate solution to hunger problems.
The government assures its citizens of food security by implementing policies to enhance food production and marketing. Agriculturalists enjoy better profits for their output while providing food at lower prices to the less fortunate via peer-to-peer interaction. The government will provide equity for all citizens in resource sharing by giving them access to job opportunities.
Moreover, the currency value’s stability helps maintain fair prices for easier food access. The United Allied States, the new blockchain government, promises food security and poverty eradication to all citizens.
